Police arrested two teenage girls after the two allegedly tried to steal an 80-year-old woman’s purse in a building near Ocean and Church Avenues last Friday, the NYPD said last night.

April Levi, 18, who lives near Brooklyn College, and a 16-year-old girl from Crown Heights were both charged with second-degree robbery, according to police – who tracked down the two teens after releasing the above surveillance footage to the public.

According to police, the teenagers allegedly followed the elderly woman into a building in the vicinity of Ocean and Church Avenues around 3:10pm on Friday, January 16. Once they were inside, the girls continued to follow the woman into an elevator, where they allegedly demanded the victim’s purse, police said.

The woman refused, after which the teens allegedly “attempted to forcibly remove the victim’s purse from around her neck, causing her to fall to the ground,” police said. They then fled empty handed.
