Two Chances To Check Out Cool Cars At Lenny’s Garage This Weekend
This weekend there are two opportunities to get a peek at Lenny Shiller’s classic car collection while helping out a couple of good causes. Two fundraisers are coming up on Saturday, March 22, where you’ll get a chance to see inside Lenny’s Garage at 304 Douglass Street, filled with dozens of cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more, including a 1929 Durant rumble-seat coupe, a 1979 Checker cab, and a 1965 Ford Good Humor Ice Cream truck.
If you’ve got a kid who’s a fan of all things auto, stop by from 11am-2pm, when the Brooklyn Free School is hosting a fundraiser. Suggested donations are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and anyone under 12 is free (kids must be accompanied by an adult). All proceeds go to support the school. At noon, there will be a talk about the collection.
Then for the grown-ups, Preserve Park Slope is hosting a gala to support their advocacy and legal campaign for responsible development in the neighborhood. Tickets are $50 and are available in advance. In addition to seeing all the cool cars, there will be music, food, and beverages, and they’re encouraging attendees to get dolled up in vintage fashion.
