Trivia, Tour, Free Trees, And A Book Talk At Green-Wood Cemetery

From trivia to free trees, Green-Wood Cemetery (500 25th Street; Ft Hamilton Pkwy entrance open 8am-4pm on weekends only) is bursting with activity this week, and you don’t want to miss out on the fun.

Kings of Kings County Trivia Night
Thursday, April 25, at 7pm
Kick off the evening with a twilight tour of the cemetery, followed by team trivia with TrivWorks in the chapel. Tickets, which can be purchased online, are $15 for Green-Wood Historic Fund members, and $20 for non-members.

Tu-mulchous and Tree-mendous Event
Saturday, April 27, 10am
The cemetery, along with the New York Restoration Project and Million Trees NYC, will offer free trees (arrive early to fill out a reservation form) and mulch (bring your own bag) to community gardeners. Trees are given away on a first-come-first-serve basis, can only go with residents of New York City, and weigh 30 pounds, so be sure that you have a way to get yours home.

“A Fate Worse Than Death: The Perils of Being a Famous Corpse” Book Talk
Sunday, April 28, 1pm
Bess Lovejoy, author of Rest In Pieces: The Curious Fates of Famous Corpses, will talk about famous New Yorkers and their curious endings. Following the talk, meet the author and pick up a copy of the book. Tickets are $10 for members, $15 for non-members.
