Trilogy Of Juicy, Saucy Food Mysteries Appear Around The Neighborhood

Just when we thought we had the month of June figured out, a trilogy of curiosities show up. And it all happened fast enough that we’re trying to follow the breadcrumb trails.

From Windsor Terrace to the northern part of the Slope, we’ve come upon some culinary brainteasers.

Mystery 1: Oggi Pizza Bar
Where: 217 Prospect Park West (between 16th Street and Windsor Place)
What’s The Mystery? The butcher paper is up and and this new pizza spot has replaced long-time Enzo’s Brick Oven pizza, which dates back to 2008. The old Enzo’s phone number isn’t answering. Neighbor Janice Fryer says, “Enzo‘s sautéed broccoli rabe will be sorely missed.” We’re still hunting down the new owners — or could they be the old ones switching it up?

Mystery 2: Jumble Juice & Salad Bar
Where: 322 5th Avenue, between 2nd and 3rd Streets
What’s The Mystery? The real question is whether or not Jumble Juice is closed or renovating. The place opened up almost exactly a year ago, and lacks much of an internet presence. A Yelp reviewer gave the space five stars during her visit on May 30, so this all happened rather fast. The neighborhood is not lacking in juice bar options, so it’s possible that the competition thinned out the customer base.

Mystery 3: La Cerveteca Cafe and Juice Bar
Where: 641 President Street between 4th and 5th Avenues
What’s The Mystery? This new place was quiet this morning, but the restaurant seems rather “moved in” when we peered past the butcher paper. That said, the forthcoming digs lacks internet presence as well, so we’re still researching.

Heard anything more about these places or anywhere else in the neighborhood? We love it when our neighbors give us a heads up. Please email editor@bklyner.com to ask us (or tell us) about all comings and goings.
