Well, folks, it’s official: Tribeca Pediatrics will be moving into the old John’s Bakery space at 1322 Cortelyou Road, by Rugby Road, this September, we confirmed with the doctor’s office today.

Construction work began a couple weeks ago at the site, which the Ficarra family, who owned and ran John’s Bakery, sold the building to Nicholas Stein’s LLC, named 1322 Cortelyou RD NYC, LLC, for $2.1 million in December.

Tribeca Pediatrics — which previously looked at opening an office last year at 722 Coney Island Avenue — has offices throughout the city (as well as in New Jersey and California), including in Park Slope, Fort Greene, Bay Ridge, Boerum Hill, and more.

Founded by Dr. Michel Cohen in 1994, the business was originally located in Dr. Cohen’s Tribeca loft where he lived his family. According to Tribeca Pediatrics’ website, the doctor’s “practice became very popular with local parents who loved his low intervention approach, personal touch and high quality of care.”

“His philosophy eventually evolved into the book, ‘The New Basics: A to Z Baby and Child Care for the Modern Parent,’ and is now the basis for care at Tribeca Pediatrics,” the website states.

This office joins a number of pediatricians in the area, including:
