Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28, bring a blanket and picnic dinner and head out to Paerdergat Park (Albany Avenue between Foster Avenue and Farragut Road) for a free screening of “Rockers,” the groundbreaking film on reggae music and culture, music, dancing, and more!

The evening’s entertainment will kick off at 7pm at the park, with the movie getting started at sundown. Pre-screening festivities will include entertainment from Caribbean comedian Majah Hype, a performance by the CASYM Steel Orchestra and a reggae dance contest. Light refreshments will be provided, but be sure to bring your own blanket and/or chairs.

The event is part of the third annual FlatPOP! summer series, which is sponsored by Councilman Jumaane Williams, Assemblyman N. Nick Perry and caribBEING, a local nonprofit headed up by neighbor Shelley Worrell. The series runs through the end of August and features films, live music, contests and more.

If you have questions about tomorrow’s event, contact Farah Louis-Drayton, Director of Community Outreach for Council Member Williams at 718-629-2900, or caribBeing’s Shelley Worrell at hello@caribbeing.com.
