This Weekend's Open House Picks

We’ve scoured the open house listings for this Sunday, and it wasn’t easy to find any events happening for places listed at much less than $800,000. Still, these homes are light and large and lovely – let us know what you think!

38 Stephens Court
List Price: $739,000
Size: Two bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: This 1,616 square foot home has been on the market beginning in May, and has dropped in price since then – which doesn’t seem too surprising, considering in past months we’ve seen similarly sized houses priced for less. The place definitely has some great things about it: a fireplace, newly tiled front porch, a skylight, and bay windows, to name a few. There’s an eat-in kitchen with a stove, microwave, washer, and disher; a backyard; an original staircase; large bedrooms; and lots of light. Plus, you’re not far from the 2 and the 5 trains on Newkirk and Nostrand, or the B and Q trains on Newkirk and Foster.
Open House: Sunday, July 13 from 1-4pm (call if you plan to attend)

385 Argyle Road
List Price: $1.36 million
Size: Five bedrooms, two full bathrooms
Details: This super large apartment in a prewar elevator building has a lot going on for it. There are new kitchen appliances, pretty arched doorways, huge windows, built-in book cases, plenty of closet space, and hardwood floors. Plus, you’re close to shopping and dining on both Cortelyou and Coney Island Avenue – and the Q train is three blocks away.
Open House: Sunday, July 13 from 12-1:30pm (call for an appointment)

1711 Dorchester Road
List Price: $1.825 million
Size: Five bedrooms, two full and two half bathrooms
Details: The inside of this home looks lovely – a super light kitchen, a pretty wooden staircase, a generously sized living/dining space. Still, we can’t help but notice that the house is tucked right next to a pretty imposing brick wall of the next-door apartment building. That said, there’s lots of prettiness to be had here – modern kitchen with quartz counter tops, large pantry, a backyard, so much space – and can you say two bathrooms? Plus, there’s central AC and you’re close to the shops and restaurants lining Cortelyou.
Open House: Sunday, July 13 from  2-3:30pm (call ahead for an appointment)
