This Weekend’s F & G Subway Changes

It’s almost the weekend! On the subway front, there is, of course, the imaginary G train – and as far as the F goes, there are a couple things to look out for if you’re traveling in Manhattan or Queens. Details via the MTA:

Starting Thursday:

No G train service north of Nassau Avenue
All times, until 5am Tuesday, September 2
The G is only running between Church and Nassau avenues to allow for the reconstruction of tunnels damaged during Hurricane Sandy. This means that at all times, trains will not be running to or from Greenpoint, 21st Street, and Court Square reconstruction of tunnels in Long Island City. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service. For more information about transfers, go here.
Coney Island-bound F trains skip 23rd and 14th Streets
Late nights, 11:45pm to 5am, through Friday, August 22
For service to these stations, take the F to West 4th Street and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F. For service from these stations, take the F to 34th Street-Herald Square and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F.

Starting Friday:

Coney Island-bound F trains make local stops at 65th Street, Northern Boulevard, 46th Street, Steinway Street, and 36th Street
Late nights, 12:01am to 5am, through Friday, August 22

Starting Saturday:

F trains run local in both directions between 21st Street-Queensbridge and 71st Avenue
Weekend, 12:01am Saturday, August 23 through 5am Monday, August 25
Trains stop at 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard, 65th Street, Roosevelt Avenue, Elmhurst Avenue, Grand Avenue, Woodhaven Boulevard, 63rd Drive, and 67th Avenue.

Remember, unscheduled changes can occur, so be sure to check out the MTA’s website before heading out.
