Hops Hill, run by two Downtown Bar & Grill veterans, opened at 886 Fulton Street.- The Good Batch bakery is bringing their stroopwafels, handcrafted ice cream sandwiches, and more to Fulton Street this Labor Day.
- And let’s not forget about Myrtle Avenue! Brewklyn Grind Coffee Roasters will be opening at 557 next month.
- Neighbors living across from the construction site at 10 MetroTech fear for their health over dust they say could be toxic.
- This week in crime: eight people (including five teens) were charged with gun trafficking around Lafayette Gardens, three men were arrested after cops found their stash of vehicles, guns, heroin, and cash, and a robber took a mom’s wallet in front of her kids and several break ins were reported in our crime blotter.
- The long-vacant building at 1024 Fulton Street is set to become retail space, social services, and affordable housing, plus we took a look at six other residential properties underway nearby.
- Councilmember Laurie Cumbo has put almost a quarter of her capital funding toward the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, an organization which she founded.
- A Nevins Street block was named after late Brooklynite and workers’ rights activist Jon Kest.
