This Sunday Is Your Last Chance To Ride The MTA’s Nostalgia Train
Whether you think the MTA has been naughty or nice this year, you might want to clear some time this Sunday, December 22, to hop on the Holiday Nostalgia Train running over the M line from 2nd Avenue to Queens Plaza.
Never been on one before? The train is made up of vintage subway cars from the 1930s to 1970s, and features details like ceiling fans and wicker seats that are pretty unimaginable on the sleek cars of today. All cars are on display at the New York Transit Museum year round, but are somehow way cooler when they’re on the move–so catch ’em while you can.
Trips begin at 2nd Avenue just after 10am on Sunday and wrap up at Queen’s Plaza just before 5pm. See the MTA site for exact schedules and details, and enjoy!
