Thinking Of Leaving Brooklyn, Moving North To Where Its Cooler, And Owning A Hotel?

Thinking Of Leaving Brooklyn, Moving North To Where Its Cooler, And Owning A Hotel?

It’s so hot that we’re starting to consider moving north. This line of daydreaming led us to a listing via Mary Kay Gallagher for a hotel in the Catskills:

The Andes Hotel is situated on  1.245 acres. This thriving landmark establishment located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Andes in New York’s Catskill Mountains only 3 1/2 hours from Brooklyn, NY.  The Hotel in 2001, took a complete renovation of the circa 1850′s hotel.

Turns out you wouldn’t be the first local resident to head to this region — broker Alexandra Reddish tells us the Andes Hotel’s current owner grew up in Prospect Park South. And of course there’s also Chris and George Fusscas, who left behind their Coney Island Avenue diner in the 1950s to open the Andell Inn in that same Catskills town.

If you had $1.3M, would could channel your inner Newhart for a 10-unit hotel and restaurant and high temperatures around 10 degrees cooler than Brooklyn this week?
