Birdwatching
When: Saturday, September 12 at 10am
Where: Fort Greene Park Visitor Center
What: This roving exploration of the park’s avian fauna should be a great way to interact with and get to know our winged neighbors. Meet at the Park’s Visitor Center, bring a pair of binoculars if you’ve got them, and be ready to learn all about how Fort Greene Park and our city’s other urban parks provide important habitat for both a number of different native bird species and others that fly through the area on their migratory routes. Walking shoes are recommended, and please dress accordingly for the weather.

Mark Morris Dance Open House

Shape Up!: Stretching (Essentrics)

What: The NYC Parks Department “Shape Up! program returns with a new local volunteer instructor and an emphasis on stretching (Essentrics). No registration is needed.

Shape Up NYC Cardio-Sculpt

What: Join this FREE cardio-sculpt class. Class taught by NYC Parks Department community volunteer.

Fall Sidewalk Sale

Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival

What: The Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival began in July 2010 and has provided live Jazz entertainment for families, neighborhoods, communities and New Yorkers at large. It draws from artists affiliated with Eric Frazier’s network. It has become a gateway for artists who performed in his “Open Mic” shows during the year to get the recognition, exposure and acclaim for which they have worked. Brooklyn-Queens LT Community Garden Bike Tour

From the Clifton Place Block Association Garden289 Grand Avenue to the Central Bainbridge Community Garden277 Bainbridge Street. This is a fun and easy bicycle ride through 13 Brooklyn community gardens, non-bikers are definitely welcome to drive, walk or take public transportation. This is a self guided tour with a list of gardens provided to all registrants, feel free to visit one or all. Register today! Bike and walking route maps will be provided closer to the tour date. If you would like to drive your own vehicle to tour the gardens, contact events@bqlt.org for more information.

BEAT Festival

Where: Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Museum, Weeksville Heritage Center, and more locations.
What: The fourth annual BEAT Festival is comprised of 10 days of immersive and experimental theater, dance and vocal performances, featuring more than a dozen cutting-edge local artists in intriguing and unlikely venues across Brooklyn. Join us for this of-the-moment interplay between audience, artist, and performance space.
How much: Tickets range from FREE to $20. All-inclusive Festival Passes are available for $50.

Show and Tell Photos Of Your Clinton Hill Neighborhood

Where: Clinton Hill Library at 380 Washington Avenue
What: Bring a picture and your written short caption/short story that tells the story of your Clinton Hill neighborhood. It can be a picture of a person or persons, a place, a thing, a picturesque memory. All photographic short stories/captions & pictures will be displayed in the Clinton Hill Library for you and your neighbors to see for the month of September 2015.
