Lunchtime Yoga and Music
When: Friday, August 7 from 1-2pm
Where: BRIC Gallery at 647 Fulton Street
What: The FINAL FREE lunchtime yoga and music session of the summer! Co-presented by Bend + Bloom Yoga and featuring a different instructor and musical accompaniment each week! These are mixed-level classes for beginners to advanced practitioners, but some basic experience with yoga is suggested. Class is for adults and teens only – no children or babies please. **Bring your own yoga mat.**

“Salome”

Where: JACK at 505 1/2 Waverly Avenue
What: Red-hot theater-maker Lileana Blain-Cruz creates an immersive theatrical experience around the story of Salome, inspired loosely by the Oscar Wilde play, the Strauss opera, The Rite of Spring, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus,Paris is Burning, and The Bible.  SALOME explores the gladiator sport of watching a young girl transform into sex symbol and mad woman in the midst of an imminent apocalypse. Eating! Dancing! Sweating! Prophesies! Confetti! A beheading!  It’s a birthday party!

Shape Up!: Stretching (Essentrics)
When: Saturday, August 8 at 10am
Where: Clinton Hill Library at 380 Washington Avenue
What: Our popular NYC Parks Department “Shape Up! program returns with a new local volunteer instructor and an emphasis on stretching (Essentrics). Class begins at 10 AM and ends at 11 AM. No registration is needed.

Where: Fort Greene Park along Myrtle Avenue
What: Always free and open to the public, the festival showcases artists of various backgrounds, including DJs, bands, dance companies, fashion designers, filmmakers and photographers, just to name a few. The festival provides the backdrop for access to music, networking and other activities.

Bethel Sports Clubs Free Exercise Class
When: Every Sunday from 3-4pm
Where: Bethel SDA Health Ministry at 457 Grand Avenue
What: Weekly exercise class with dumbbells, tension ropes, exercise ball, treadmill and the guidance of a certified fitness instructor.

TOBIN EASON – Passion in Motion” Exhibit
When: Through August 13
Where: Gallery Three at South Oxford Space, at 138 South Oxford Street, 3rd Floor
What: The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) is pleased to present an exhibit of nine works on canvas by Tobin Eason. Eason’s paintings are influenced by the dance performing arts scene in NYC. They depict the wide and varied emotions performing artists must portray when performing for an audience. Each work is a reflection of not only the dancer’s beauty aesthetically, but even more importantly, the required expression and passion to achieve artistic excellence. Many of the dancers featured in each painting are established professionals in premier ballet companies in the city, such as American Ballet Theatre and the New York City Ballet.
How much: FREE; Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from10am to 4pm. Additional viewing hours are easily arranged by calling 718-398-3078.

Show and Tell Photos Of Your Clinton Hill Neighborhood
When: Through August 31 from 10am-6pm
Where: Clinton Hill Library at 380 Washington Avenue
What: Bring a picture and your written short caption/short story that tells the story of your Clinton Hill neighborhood. It can be a picture of a person or persons, a place, a thing, a picturesque memory. All photographic short stories/captions & pictures will be displayed in the Clinton Hill Library for you and your neighbors to see for the month of September 2015. You can bring in your picture and story into the branch or mail it to 380 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238 or email it to cclark@bklynlibrary.org.
