What: Brad Johnsmeyer will exhibit a small collection of his artwork.

Monday Night Karaoke
When: Monday, October 12 from 8-11pm
Where: Brooklyn Eats on Myrtle at 474 Myrtle Avenue
What: Show off your range while hitting all the notes in your favorite song during Brooklyn Eats on Myrtle’s weekly karaoke event.  Between 8pm and 11pm, enjoy food and drink while enjoying the vocal stylings of fellow locals.

Mortgage Scam and Foreclosure Prevention Workshop
When: Tuesday, October 13 from 6-8pm
Where: Brooklyn Borough Hall at 209 Joralemon Street
What: Hosted by BP Eric Adams and NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Learn how to avoid mortgage scams and deed theft. Speak with housing counselors and legal service providers. File complaints with the Office of the Attorney General.

Yoga for Adults
When: Tuesday, October 13 from 6:30-7:30pm
Where: Clinton Hill Library at 380 Washington Avenue
What: Practice yoga with local yoga instructor, Jenine Osborn. All levels welcome. Limit of 10-12 per class. Mats will be provided.

Book Launch: Garth Risk Hallberg’s “City On Fire”
When: Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30pm
Where: Greenlight Bookstore at 686 Fulton Street
What: In perhaps the most anticipated debut novel of the year, Brooklyn writer Garth Risk Hallberg has created a big-hearted, boundary-vaulting masterpiece about 1970s New York that culminates in the riotous blackout of 1977. Book Launch: Kirk Lynn’s “Rules For Werewolves”
When: Wednesday, October 14 at 7:30pm
Where: Greenlight Bookstore at 686 Fulton Street
What: Rules for Werewolves is the debut novel from acclaimed playwright Kirk Lynn: a visionary narrative about shelter, escape, family, violence, dumpster-diving, the mortgage crisis, and maybe, evil mythical beings. Toying with genre, the novel is narrated almost entirely through the unattributed dialogue of Malcolm, Tanya, Bobert, Susan, Anquille, and Angel; squatters, occupiers, invaders, and the “werewolves” of the book’s title. They’ve run away from their homes and their pasts, and now they’re roaming through the half-empty suburbs, never staying in one place long enough to attract attention. Lynn launches his book with a dramatic reading from the book at Greenlight, followed by a wine reception.
