Trapeze Across Coney Island

Where: Surf Pavilion, 3029 Stillwell Avenue
What: Trapeze School New York will be joining Coney Art Walls and Smorgasburg in Coney Island this weekend, offering visitors a chance to fly across Coney Island. In addition, lemonade maker Lizzmonade, will be joining Smorgasburg’s existing 12 food vendors and two bars — now open everyday, 11am – 8pm at the food festival.

Rain Barrel Giveaway

What: Councilman Mark Treyger and Assemblyman William Colton are partnering with the Department of Environment Protection for a free rain barrel giveaway. Using a rain barrel to capture runoff is a great way to help manage storm water and save money on your water bill. A limited number of barrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Brooklyn Cyclones’ Bark in the Park
When: Sunday, August 2, 11:30am
Where: MCU Park, 1904 Surf Avenue
What: Drooling, tail wagging and gleeful barking are encouraged at this Brooklyn Cyclones game. A portion of the ticket sales will go towards the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, which has partnered with the Cyclones for the event. Pet owners will be able to bring their dogs onto the field for a “parade of pooches” before the first pitch. The stadium’s bleacher section, renamed the “The BOW-WOW Zone” during the game, will be reserved for fans and their pets.

What: The Coney Island Yacht Club Jazz Band will perform a free concert at the brand new Surf Pavilion. The show will begin with a New Orleans-style street parade, and continue at the Surf Pavilion tent with music and dancing.
