Drug Awareness & Prevention Workshop
When: Thursday, October 22, 6pm
Where: Tovushi Kavkazi Jewish Youth Center,2309 Avenue Z,
What: The Be Proud Foundation, in partnership with police and the Tovushi Kavkazi Jewish Youth Center, will host a  drug awareness and prevention program. Speakers will include the NYPD’s community outreach division officer Yan Gleyzer, and two police officers from the 61st Precinct.

Change Drive At TD Bank on 86th Street
When: Friday, October 23, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Where: TD Bank, 2173 86th Street
What: Neighbors are invited to participate in a community coin counting event and fundraiser. TD will match up to $2,000 in coins counted and donate it to BRAVO Volunteer Ambulance Service. A check presentation will follow the counting.

Explore Marine Park’s Salt Marsh

Where: Our favorite naturalist Daniel Frazer will be leading a trek through Marine Park’s salt marsh in search of the area’s wonderfully diverse and beautiful wildlife. Millions of birds are settling in New York City this time of year as they make their annual migration. If you’ve ever expressed an interest in birding, or just wanted to get more familiar with the animals that share our borough, this trip is a great way to get started.

Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade
When: Saturday, October 24, 10am
Where: 1904 Surf Avenue
What: You and your family are officially invited to the 6th Annual Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade and Costume Contest. This year’s event promises to be better than ever with FREE entertainment, giveaways and, of course, trick-or-treating! Open to all children under 15 with great prizes for all contest winners. Registraton begins at 10am with the costume contest taking place at 12pm. Hand-made Coney Island themed costumes are encouraged.

Parachute Jump Goes Blue & Orange For NY Mets
When: Every day, until the Mets win the World Series
Where: Luna Park, 1000 Surf Avenue
What: The New York Mets are lighting up the baseball field, and to support their post-season efforts, Coney Island’s Parachute Jump will be ablaze in orange and blue lights spelling out “Go Mets” from top to bottom.

B.I.G Fall Planting & Garden Clean Up
When: Sunday, October 25, 19am
Where: Sheepshead Bay Road & Shore Parkway
What: Come help in Bay Improvement Groups with its annual fall planting and three-site garden clean-up in Sheepshead Bay. Just bring your gardening energy and tools (if possible). Some tools have been provided by Home Depot. Knapp Street Bagels has provided free coffee and bagels for the volunteers.

Luna Park’s Halloween Harvest
