Prospect Park South Yard Sale
When: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm
Where: Church to Beverley, Coney Island to Buckingham
What: More than 25 homes are participating in the sale, which will be held, rain or shine, from Coney Island Avenue to Buckingham Road between Church Avenue and Beverley Road. There will be tons of stuff, including toys, clothes, and many more treasures that families have accumulated over the years.

Flatbush Artists Studio Tour
When: Saturday and Sunday, 11am-5pm
Where: Various locations
What: Nearly 30 different artists from the Flatbush Artists will showcasing their work this weekend, and works range from poetry to portraiture to photography. Visitors will have the chance to both see and purchase art, as well as talk to the artists about a wide array of work – and see some them give live demonstrations.
How much: Free.

Open House New York
When: Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18. all day
Where: Various locations
What: Hundreds of sites across the city are participating in the annual weekend, which was first launched in 2003 as part of New York City’s first Architecture Week. There are tours, talks, performances and other events taking place all over the city as part of the program, including several nearby locations.

Introduction To Comics
When: Saturday, October 17, 2-4pm
Where: Windsor Terrace Library, 160 East 5th Street
What: This class will provide an introduction to cartooning techniques through fun games and exercises. Using writing, drawing, and layout design, we’ll explore how words and pictures work together to create narrative in comics. We’ll also discuss how these skills are used in many forms of cartooning- Graphic Novels, Superhero, Graphic Journalism, manga, Graphic  Memoir, Humor, and more.  Beginners and non-cartoonists are welcome!

What: Afro Caribbean, Reggae and more!

Scharen Knippen
When: Sunday, October 18, 2-4pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: Celebrate fall at Lefferts with the old Dutch craft Scharen Knippen. Cut out autumn and halloween scenes and patterns some designed in the 19th century by Mrs. Lefferts herself. While you’re here join us for potato sack races and other fun historic toys and games.
How much: $3 suggested donation.
