Monday, September 29
• Check out the weekly Shape Up NYC Couch to 5k Group Run, meeting at the Lefferts Historic House, 7pm.
• Work in a neighborhood bar or restaurant? Come take advantage of drink specials at Industry Night, 773 Lounge, 9pm.
• “Our NeighborHood” comedy night is at Bar Chord, 9pm.
Tuesday, September 30
• There’s a drop-in sing-along with Dan Loomis at Lark Cafe, 9am.
• Join the drop-in sing-along with Miss Katie at Lark Cafe, 11am.
• Babies, from age 0 to 18 months, and their parents/caregivers are welcome to join Babies and Books at Cortelyou Library, 11:15am.
• Adults are invited to an embroidery class at the Cortelyou Library, 1:30-2:30pm.
• Come sing and dance with Amy Miles at Lark Cafe, 4pm.
• Children ages 6 and up are invited to have fun at the Explore & Create event at the Cortelyou Library, 4pm.
• Join the Brooklyn Historical Society (128 Pierrepont Street) for a free screening of the documentary Everybody Street, with a post-screening discussion with photographer Lucille Fornasieri Gold and BHS Head of Collection Management July May, 6:30pm.
• Join the Brooklyn Front Runners (a multi-sport club for LGBT and LGBT-friendly athletes) for a run at Prospect Park every Tuesday evening, 7pm.
• Honky & Ladytown perform with special guests at Bar Chord, 9pm.
Wednesday, October 1
• Lend the Wednesday Corps a hand at Prospect Park (call 718-287-3400 for location), 10am.
• Attend a sing-along with neighbor Debbie Deane at Lark, 10am.
• A new gentle yoga class each Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity (1099 Ocean Avenue, by Farragut) will include stretching, strengthening, and breathing deeply, and the instructor noted it’s good for those with arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, or just regular aches and pains. $10 suggested donation, 10:30am.
• Brooklyn Historical Society presents the opening of “We the People” The Citizens of NYCHA in Pictures and Words,” an exhibition that aims to debunk the varied stigmas and stereotypes applied to people living in NYCHA housing. The exhibition will continue through March 2015 and can be viewed Wednesday through Sunday from 12-5pm.
