Anyone else feel like the city’s cleared out? All that means for those of us still here is that it’s easier to get a table at local restaurants, the commute is perhaps a little less crowded, and heading to one of these upcoming events will be a great way to break up the week.

Monday, August 5

• Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series’ Annual Caribbean Night at Wingate Field, 7:30pm.
• The Cooper Heffley Trio is at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Tuesday,  August 6

• Join Mike “The Ballooniac” Gold for his Silly Sing-Along, Lark, 10am.
• Kids five and under can enjoy Babies and Books at the Cortelyou Library, 10:30am.
• Arts and crafts for kids at the Cortelyou Library, 3pm.
Sustainable Flatbush‘s Healing Herb Garden open hours are Tues-Fri, 4pm-6pm.
• Meet the 70th Precinct (and Mayor Bloomberg and Ray Kelly) at the National Night Out Against Crime, Parade Ground, 6:30pm.

• Pre-register the kids for a DREAMA mini-camp at Pilates on Rugby, 10am.
• Rock out with The Dad Beats, also at Lark, 11am.
• Lend the Wednesday Corps a hand at Prospect Park (call 718-287-3400 for location), 11am.
• Kids five and under are invited to story time at the Cortelyou Library, 2:45-3:45pm.
• Playstation gaming for teens at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
• Join Andrew from Rolie Poli Guacamole for a sing-along at Lark, 4pm.
• Prepare for your U.S. Citizenship exam at the Cortelyou Library, 5-6pm.
• Bring ideas to the Cortelyou Library Friends Group meeting at the library, 6:30pm.
