Things For Kids To Do In Southern Brooklyn This Week

Summer is officially here and, with only one week left of school, the events calendar is filling up quickly with some great outdoor activities for the kids. On Saturday, head to Kaiser Park for the Catalyst Community Festival and then stick around for City Parks PuppetMobile’s Tales of Brier Rabbit. On Sunday, take in a free outdoor screening of Paddington at Colonel David Marcus Playground. Also, the New York Junior Tennis League will be hosting tennis clinics for kids every weekday this summer at McDonald Park — the program is free and all levels are welcome.

NYJTL’s Free Tennis for Kids
When: Every weekday, 3pm – 6pm
Where: McDonald Playground, McDonald Avenue between Avenue S & Avenue T
What: New York Junior Tennis League welcomes kids at all tennis levels to free lessons, held everyday from Monday through Friday.

Lego Challenge: Build a Metropoliz

What: Lego enthusiasts, ages 5 to 12, are invited to work together to build a Lego Metropoliz that will be on display in the library.

Erik’s Reptile Edventures
