Things To Do In Ditmas Park This Week

Monday, November 24

Join the Brooklyn Public Philosophers for their  meeting at the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. Brooklyn College Professor Anna Gotlib will speak about memory manipulation and the self, 7pm.
• Check out the weekly Shape Up NYC Couch to 5k Group Run, meeting at the Lefferts Historic House, 7pm.
• “Our Neighborhood” comedy night at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Tuesday, November 25

• There’s a drop-in sing-along with Dan Loomis (of The Dadbeats) at Lark Cafe, 9am.
• Join the drop-in sing-along with Miss Katie at Lark Cafe, 11am.
• Babies (up to 18 months old) and their parents/caregivers are welcome to enjoy books, songs & rhymes at Cortelyou Library, 11:15am.
• Come sing and dance with Amy Miles at Lark Cafe, 4pm.
Join the Brooklyn Front Runners (a multi-sport club for LGBT and LGBT-friendly athletes) for a run at Prospect Park every Tuesday evening, 7pm.
• Win a $60 bar tab during Highbury Pub’s trivia night, 9pm.
• The Tumble performs their classic country, blues and soul at Bar Chord, 9pm.

Wednesday, November 26

• A new gentle yoga class each Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity (1099 Ocean Avenue, by Farragut) will include stretching, strengthening, and breathing deeply, and the instructor noted it’s good for those with arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, or just regular aches and pains. $10 suggested donation, 10:30am.
• Children in grades 1 through 8 can get help with their homework at the Cortelyou Library, 3-5pm.
• Teens are invited to play video games at the Cortelyou Library, 4-5pm.
• Mission Boys: Braxton Hicks, Mike Aiello, and Mike Kramer perform their blues, rock and more at Bar Chord, 9pm.
• Two-for-one whiskey night at the Highbury Pub, 9pm.

Thursday, November 27

• The Prospect Park Turkey Trot is sold out – but you can still cheer on runners in this annual favorite event, 9am.
Celebrate Thanksgiving with a free and festive holiday luncheon at the Flatbush Reformed Church, 12pm.

Friday, November 28

• Join the drop-in sing-alongs with Lloyd H. Miller at Lark Café, 10 & 11am.
• Adults are invited to the computer class at the Cortelyou Library, 11am.
• Come to Prospect Park’s Audubon Center for a free cardio toning class, 12pm.
• Meet fellow moms and dads at the New Parent Meet-Up, Lark, 1pm.
• Learn how to make your own paper quilt collage at the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park ($3 suggested donation), 1-3pm.
• Kids can attend Blooming Naturalists  at the Prospect Park’s Audubon Center, 1-2pm Thursdays and Fridays.
