Neighbor Elizabeth Champ let us know she rescued another another set of kittens from near the Q Gardens site near the Church Avenue station – and she needs our help.

Elizabeth wrote to us:

I was dropping off some food for the colony when I saw a sick kitten I named Bach: he had an eye infection so severe that his eyes were swollen shut. I immediately rushed him to a vet where he was treated for both the eye infection, flea infestation and a respiratory infection. Acting on a hunch, I went back the next day and found four MORE kittens (Mozart, Handel, Liszt and Brahms) suffering similar complaints. They all went to the vet as well. As I am already fostering kittens, I searched for a rescue that would take them: a rescue agreed but ONLY if I assumed all vetting costs through adoption (including spay/neuter). Most immediately they need their first round of FVCRP boosters before the rescue will take them in (almost $100).I have already spent hundreds of dollars vetting them (and luckily their FELV/FIV testing was sponsored by a local rescue support group, Stewie To the Rescue).

Our neighbor needs help with the kittens’ continued care (several sets of kitten fostering does not come cheap), so if you’re able to help these kittens, you can go here to donate.

Also, Elizabeth is looking for homes for kittens she’s now fostering – Gibson and Old Fashioned. She recently found a wonderful home for another adorable kitten, Tom Collins.
