There’s A(nother) New Food Hall Coming To Fort Greene
Epicureans rejoice: there’s a new food hall coming to Fort Greene.
Gotham Market at the Ashland, brought to you by the purveyors of Gotham Market West in Hell’s Kitchen, will be opening a 16,000 square foot food hall will be opening in fall 2016 in the new high rise at 250 Ashland Place, at the intersection of Ashland Place and Fulton Street, according to Gothamist.
In addition to a “convivial bar”, there’s “plenty of good stuff in store: Mu Ramen, noodle bowls and Japanese fare; Apizza Regionale; Flip Bird, a new rotisserie chicken vendor from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que’s John Stage; and Mason Jar bringing smoked meat and bourbon,” reports Gothamist.
Amidst all the development, the neighborhood has seen a sudden burst of food hall options. DeKalb Market Hall is coming later this year to City Point.
As we reported earlier this year:
The food hall will indeed have 55 vendors from around the five boroughs, each with their own personalized and tricked-out food stall in the 30,000 square foot space.
As we reported last April, among those already signed up to return are Katz’s Deli, Cuzin’s Duzin, Fletcher’s Brooklyn Barbecue, Arepa Lady, Forcella, Steve’s Ice Cream, Pain D’Avignon, a pierogi counter, and a crepe bar.
Once complete, the City Point tower at 1-7 DeKalb Avenue will also house a Trader Joe’s, which will sit right next to DeKalb Market Hall.
Moreover, the Building 77 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard is about to be home to several major name establishments, including the Brooklyn Brewery and Russ and Daughters.
“Our move, along with Russ & Daughters, Brooklyn Grange, Brooklyn Roasting Company, Mast Brothers Chocolate, and many more to come, signifies a new era for the hardest working section of New York City,” declared Brooklyn Brewery on its blog following the move.
