The Ploughman Now Serving Beer By The Glass

Though you’ve been able to grab a growler of one of 11 beers on tap at  The Ploughman, 438 7th Avenue, you can now enjoy a glass while you’re checking out cheeses, meats, and more. Owner Alice Piacenza tells us they’re pretty excited to be pouring.

“Of course, we still have our growlers to go, but the public cried out to be able to have a beer here in the store, so we gave them what they wanted,” she says.

The taps rotate weekly, and they usually bring in about 4-7 new beers each week. Every Saturday they have tastings featuring the brewers or their reps — stop by this Saturday, May 24 to sample some Grimm, and then stop back the following weeks for

Oskar Blues, Ommegang, and then Green Flash“This past weekend we tasted Two Brothers from Chicago,” Alice says. “They are going fast, but are delicious and still available.”

If you don’t make it on a Saturday, not to worry — you can always sample beers before you buy.

The Ploughman is located at 438 7th Avenue, between 14th and 15th Streets, and is open Sunday-Monday 11am-7pm, Tuesday-Wednesday 11am-8pm, and Thursday-Sunday 11am-9pm.
