The Painted Pot Is Moving Down 7th Avenue
The Painted Pot is making a move down 7th Avenue to a larger space, with the hopes of expanding their class schedule as a result.
Owner Lisa Mendoza tells us they’ll be leaving their home of the past two-plus years at 72 7th Ave to take over the former Citi Home Lending space at 200 7th Ave, between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
“We are moving due to a variety of reasons,” she says. “First, we have out grown our current location. It is too narrow, and our new space is wider which will be better for parties.”
The new space may also allow them to add pottery wheel classes like they offer at their Carroll Gardens location, but they still need to figure out if that will work.
“Though the space is bigger, it may not be big enough for wheels,” she says.
Additionally, Mendoza says she’s looking forward to some of the more practical elements of the new storefront — namely, a more welcoming and noticeable look.
“I feel our current location is not ideal and our storefront is hidden by the garbage cans and the dark facade,” she says.
“In addition, we feel the new location will work for us to be more centrally located in the heart of Park Slope,” she says.
She expects the new space to be open by mid-September. Until then, you can still paint your own pottery (and more) at the current location — which, once they move, will leave two empty adjacent storefronts on that block.
