The Nor’easter is Here, You Should Stay Inside

Winter storm Athena (yes, winter) is upon us. The snow is wet, the wind is brutal and the storm surge is going to be dangerous in areas to our south. Several facilities and locations have been evacuated in the Rockaways and Staten Island. The city is urging people to stay off the road tonight. Use mass transit (the Q and B are back online in our area) if you must be out. Temperatures will drop into the 30s and feel like the mid-20s by tonight.

The city is under high wind warning until 4 a.m. tomorrow morning. Because dangerous trees still line the streets of Ditmas Park, neighbors should seriously consider staying inside or, at least, avoiding side streets with trees.

If you spot any dangerous situations with trees or debris, report them to the proper authorities and then email us at ditmasparkcorner@gmail.com so we can inform neighbors.

Grab a warm drink, put on a sweater or two and stay in for the night. It’s getting nasty out there.
