‘The Intern’ Returns To Film This Week

The film The Intern, which is directed by Nancy Meyers (Father of the Bride, It’s Complicated) and features Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, will be back to shoot in our area later this week.

When they were here back in June, they took over much of 7th Avenue, and a few neighbors spotted De Niro as he made his way down the transformed sidewalk. In the movie, Hathaway will play a businesswoman who takes on De Niro as an intern as part of an outreach program for senior citizens.

This turn in the neighborhood appears to be less extensive, just taking place on one day (rather than the three days they were here last time). They’ll be filming all day on Thursday, September 18, starting at 6am, and we spotted signs along 8th Avenue around 6th Street.

Cars need to be moved from blocks with these signs by 10pm on Wednesday, September 17. If you find your car has been relocated, contact Nils at 917-568-1260.
