The Greenmarket Report: Time to Carbo-Load

Today at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, join the cheering section as racers in the Rock N Roll 10K run through the market.

“There will be lots of carb loading and refreshment options for after the race,” says Market Manager Samantha Blatteis, “so stop by the market for your fall favorites including apple cider, apple cider donuts, fall pies and baked goods, and all your favorite fall produce: apples, squash, gourds, brussels sprouts, hearty greens, potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets, carrots and more.”

And don’t forget to stop by the info tent to sign up for next week’s Apple Pie Bake-Off, and to check out the free recipes, cooking demonstrations and information from EscapeMaker.

Tomorrow at the Park Slope Farmers Market, you can make up for all the carbs by picking up some more fresh fruits and vegetables. Carving pumpkins are also coming in, so it’s a great chance to grab one for your stoop.
