The Greenmarket Report: Pasta & Kombucha
While we wait on the ample greens that will be greeting us soon at our weekend markets, why not enjoy some of the prepared items that can be found at them?
At the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket on Saturday, March 29, check out the new pasta shapes on hand from Cayuga Pure Organics, like the red wheat flour gnocchi sardi pictured above. Also, it’s the last weekend of the Winter Warriors program, so make sure you get your card stamped to earn a coupon from one of your favorite farmers.
Then on Sunday, March 30 at the Park Slope Farmers Market, take a taste of the kombucha from Om Champagne Tea, a fermented drink to which they add fresh flavors like red turmeric and grated Hawaiian ginger. And don’t forget, the market is open longer now, through 5pm each week.
The Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-5pm along 4th Street at 5th Avenue.
