The Farm On Adderley's Chef Tom Kearney Hailed As One Of Brooklyn's Best Sommeliers
Brooklyn Exposed published a piece yesterday on the top five sommeliers in Brooklyn, and as with most “Best of Brooklyn” lists, only one was south of Prospect Park. This time in particular, the honor went to Chef Tom Kearney of Ditmas Park’s The Farm on Adderley.
After working at restaurants in Manhattan, the story says, Tom “realized what he wanted was to be in a place where people could afford to live,” and not long thereafter opened The Farm. In true community spirit, Tom notes how pleased he is to see former employees open more businesses on Cortelyou–especially having cut his restaurant teeth when “making business in Brooklyn was not even a thing.”
Of all the wine-serving establishments the publication could have chosen, our oft-ignored part of the borough earned a spot on the list through Tom’s reputation as a sommelier open to change and uninterested in preconceived notions of what wine and wine service should be. Congrats, Tom.
