The Day: A Community Safety Meeting, Famous New Nabes and a Missing Cat
Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
Despite the rain, we saw many of you last night at a community safety meeting about recent violence in the area, including the shooting death of Antonio Wilson in Clinton Hill on June 1. Check back later for more on the meeting, including what a representative from New Sapolo Restaurant, which neighbors allege has been serving alcohol to minors, had to say.
- Actress Lake Bell and tattoo artist Scott Campbell are moving into the nabe, Celebuzz reported. Campbell and Bell, who starred in Boston Legal and The Practice, will move into a 19th-century townhouse in the Vanderbilt Historic district on the border of Clinton Hill and Fort Greene that they bought for $1.55 million. The couple just tied the knot on June 1 in a New Orleans ceremony with Jennifer Aniston and other celebs in attendance, according to Pop Sugar.
- The second Farm to Neighborhood event, a community food project sponsored by the Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project, is tonight at Lulu & Po from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 154 Carlton Avenue. Tonight’s event will feature food from Brooklyn Grange and Feather Ridge Farm prepared by Lulu & Po’s chef, as well as wine from Long Island winemaker Anthony Nappa Wines.
- We got word that a Fort Greene resident is looking for her lost cat, Oskar. If you have seen him or have any information on where he might have gone, send a tweet to Sammi Jo Johnson.
