The Chocolate Room Now Open In New, Larger Space

Welcome back to The Chocolate Room, which opened in its new space last Wednesday.

They made the move to 51 5th Avenue, between Bergen and St Marks, which was previously home to Mega Glass, after closing their original 5th Ave space a few blocks away, and a temporary pop-up they had on that same block this past winter.

The new space was completely gutted and redone, and it’s lovely. There is ample seating, and it’ll be a nice spot to enjoy dessert after dinner at a nearby restaurant, or just to sit and sip one of our favorite local hot chocolates. They don’t have wi-fi, though, so you’ll have to put that laptop away and actually have a conversation, which may consist mostly of, “What else should we snack on?”

And there are plenty of options, from rich cakes and chocolate-drizzled homemade marshmallows, to signature bon-bons and chocolate bars from a range of chocolatiers. If you enjoyed its previous incarnation, you’ll be happy with this new space — it’s all the chocolatey goodness from before, just in a larger, more inviting space.

“Thanks to our staff and dear friends for helping make this new shop a reality,” they wrote on Facebook. “We are so happy to be back!”

Of course, they’re not the only chocolate spot opening on 5th this year — NuNu’s Park Slope location, which will also feature beer on tap, should open this fall, as well.

The Chocolate Room is located at 51 5th Avenue, 718-783-2900. Hours are Sunday-Thursday 12-11pm, and Friday-Saturday 12pm-12am.
