The Blessed Ones

Church Avenue BID Executive Director Lauren Collins sent us these great photos from today’s Blessing of the Animals at Saint Paul’s Church. She says:

15+ dogs (and one cat hiding out in its carrier) showed up for St. Paul’s Church’s first Blessing of the Animals. Father Sheldon Hamblin blessed each animal individually while Brooklynites from as far away as Marine Park munched on cookies and doughnuts (provided by  Meat Palace Supreme and the Dunkin Donuts at E. 17th Street) and dog treats provided by Pawsitive Veterinary.
Many of the visitors and their pets followed the blessing with an exploration of the Church’s unusual stained glass windows. Pictured below is Father Hamblin blessing Elroy, animal companion of the BID’s own Melissa Skolnick.

Did you attend today’s ceremony, or do something else cool with you pet?
