Thanksgiving Drive Update: Less Than Two Days To Go & We Have 250 Families To Help

We are so incredibly grateful to our 120 neighbors who have helped raise a little more than $7,500 for CAMBA’s 500 Turkeys for 500 Families Thanksgiving drive – which means 250 families in our area will get a Thanksgiving turkey this holiday.

We know our neighbors whose bellies will be full this Thursday are incredibly thankful, as is everyone at CAMBA, for your generosity – but we still have 250 more families we’d like to help. And that means we need to raise another $7,500 before Thanksgiving.

As you go shopping for all the food that will be spread before this holiday, keep in mind how important it is to you to be able to sit around the table with family and friends – and have plenty to eat. There are many in our community who don’t have this luxury (more than 4,300 families go to CAMBA’s food pantry on Church Avenue for help each month), and we’d like to make sure that they too have a happy Thanksgiving.

“Having a turkey on Thanksgiving will make somebody happy,” CAMBA Program Supervisor Lucila Santa told us today. “A lot of people have told me how frustrated they feel to not have a turkey. It really upsets them.”

You can donate however much you feel comfortable doing so, and for $30, you’ll bring a turkey and all its fixings to a family of six; $60 buys you meals for two grateful families; and $120 will help make 24 people happy this Thursday.

If you haven’t contributed so far, please do so today.
