A 17-year-old girl, who was beaten into a coma last week by a group of teenagers, died from her injuries Tuesday night, the Daily News reports.

Ta’Jae Warner was attacked Friday outside the Ocean Towers on West 24th Street while she was walking her 11-year-old brother to the store, according to the Daily News.

CBS News reports Warner struck her head on the pavement when she fell during the fight.

She was declared brain dead at Bellevue Hospital Sunday night, though the hospital kept her on life support until Tuesday so out-of-state relatives could come to say their goodbyes, the Daily News reports.

Prosecutors have charged 18-year-old Sarina Agard-Forde with felony and misdemeanor assault for the attack, though they expect to bring more serious charges in the future, according to the News.

A community activist has reportedly called for others involved in Warner’s death to come forward. A friend of Warner’s family told the Daily News the William E. Grady High School sophomore as an “kind-hearted, loving, outgoing” person who loved to perform dance routines with classmates and wear colorful clothing.
