Teenage 2 Train Thieves Snatch Cell Phones in the Subway
CENTRAL BROOKLYN – Police are seeking two teens for a pair of brazen cell phone thefts along the 2 train last Friday.
Around 11:00 am on Friday, October 13, the thieves snatched a phone from the hands of a 32-year old male entering the Sterling Street subway station in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, fleeing west on Sterling, said police.
Then, barely two hours later, the duo struck again, this time onboard the 2 train. As the northbound train pulled into Grand Army Plaza, the two grabbed an iPhone 7 from the hands of a 23-year old woman and fled up the stairs from the platform, disappearing to parts unknown, said police.
Surveillance footage of the two teenage thieves prior to the robberies can be seen below.
Police described the first suspect as black male teenager, 16-19 years old, with a medium complexion and slim build, last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers. The second suspect is also described by police as black male teenager, also 16-19 years old, but with a dark complexion and slim build, last seen wearing a dark red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
