Local Teen Stabbed to Death at Parade Ground
Just before noon yesterday (Sunday), police say 19-year-old Jeffrey Jeune of East 19th Street was stabbed to death at the Parade Ground, at Parkside Avenue and Parade Place. He had been stabbed in the torso and was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 3pm.
The Daily News reports the incident occurred inside the basketball court at the park, and that after he’d been stabbed, he climbed the fence and collapsed on the sidewalk, where a neighbor tried to help him while they waited for paramedics. A Walk in the Park reports that Jeune was “not cooperative with police in identifying the assailant before his death.”
The News also notes that Jeune had a record of prior arrests, including identity theft and criminal possession of stolen property.
Police say no arrests have been made, and that the investigation is ongoing.
