Teen Arrested For Fatal Shooting Of Nostrand Houses Resident, Police Say

Police have arrested a 17-year-old suspected of gunning down a man outside the Nostrand Houses Wednesday evening.

The suspect, Ramon Cooper, was arrested Thursday afternoon near Nostrand Avenue and Avenue W and has been charged with murder and possession of a loaded firearm, according to the NYPD. Cooper is accused of fatally shooting 36-year-old Darnell Warren outside his home in the Nostrand Houses, near Bragg Street and Avenue W.

Police say they found a .25-caliber semi-automatic firearm in Cooper’s possession at the time of the arrest. The NYPD could not confirm that the gun was used in the murder.
