Tastebud Alert! Smorgasburg, With Scores Of Local Vendors, Returning To Prospect Park
There’s more fun — and good eating — to be had in our beautiful backyard this Spring.
Smorgasburg, the weekly food festival featuring 100 local and regional food vendors and cuisines from around the world, is returning to Prospect Park on April 3.
The event is a “showcase of the best of the borough’s artisanal food scene,” says the Prospect Park Alliance.
Smorgasburg had a very successful trial run in the park last summer. This year, it will be happening every Sunday, from April 3 to October 23, from 11am to 6pm.
After the food festival finished their time in the park last Fall, they set-up shop at Industry City. And Smorgasburg — along with Brooklyn Flea — contributed to drawing a crowd down to IC and providing somewhat of an introduction to those less familiar with the goings on down there.
Smorgasburg will be closest to the Ocean Avenue side of Prospect Park. Find it on Well House Drive, tucked in between the Lakeside skating rink and the boathouse.
Smorgasburg began in Williamsburg as a spin-off project of Brooklyn Flea founders Jonathan Butler and Eric Demby, and has now become a year-round event.
