Sweet Charity Closes 7th Avenue Store

Neighbor Leslie Albrecht sent word last week that gift and home goods store Sweet Charity (411 7th Avenue, between 13th and 14th Streets) would soon be closing its doors, and when we peeked through the window on Wednesday, a large portion of the space was already cleared out.

While signage above the business still says Sweet Charity, which opened its doors in 2006, the store’s website notes that owners changed the name to LIBRA earlier this year.

LIBRA’s online store is still going strong, and a recent Facebook post teases that they have “exciting news around the bend,” so it appears that fans will still be able to get their hands on the artisanal goodies we’ve come to know and love from the little shop.

We’ve reached out to the store’s owners for more information, but have yet to hear back. Until then, we wish our neighbors at LIBRA the best of luck in their future endeavors.
