Police are searching for a man who reportedly tricked a 66-year-old Clinton Hill woman out of $9,500.

On the afternoon of Friday, October 21, 2016, police report that the suspect called the victim at her home posing as a friend. The suspect reportedly told the victim that he had been arrested and asked her for $9,500 cash for bail. After the victim agreed to provide the bail money, a man showed up in a green four door sedan and collected the cash.

After the individual left, the victim says she received another call requesting more money. The victim became suspicious and called the friend that the suspect had impersonated and learned that he had not been arrested.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 25 to 30 years old with a slim build, short hair, dark complexion, and a dark birthmark on the left side of his face.
