Suspect In Custody After Recent Police Officer Assault
A man is being questioned by police in connection to the November 18 assault on a police officer, who was questioning him in regards to a sexual attack on a young girl.
The man was picked up by police this morning after they got a tip from a good Samaritan, DNAinfo reports. CBS adds that the person who reported him actually asked for his ID and took a photo of it.
Police were looking for the man after he allegedly pushed the officer to the ground as he was being questioned, causing her to dislocate her shoulder.
The NYPD has not yet said whether this is the same man being sought in connection to an incident that occurred last week, where an 11-year-old girl was groped while on 4th Street. The same suspect may also be responsible for three other, similar incidents.
The Daily News is reporting, however, that the man suspected in the assault on the officer has been arrested for these forcible touching incidents.
