Surfish Bistro Officially Rides The Wave Onto 3rd Avenue
3rd Avenue just got a healthy dose of churitos, ceviche de pulpo, and zapallitos. And chef Miguel Aguilar has a lot more cooking.
The larger and grander Surfish Bistro at 550 3rd Avenue (corner of 14th Street) rode a Peruvian ceviche and tapas wave on November 27 — the date of its grand opening. And as promised by Aguilar, the wave arrived in November.
The space boasts two floors, a lot of legroom, and a substantial menu.
Back in September, Miguel Aguilar, chef and owner of Surfish Bistro, assured us that the original restaurant at 351 5th Avenue (between 4th and 5th Streets) will remain open for business as well.
“We won’t be closing it,” explains Aguilar. “But the menu will be smaller there. We will serve rotisserie chicken and Peruvian sandwiches. Our full menu will be at our new place.”
The new Surfish Bistro is open from 1:30pm-1:00am 7 days a week. Reservations can be made online or by calling 718-832-8200.
