Superintendent Mugged At Gunpoint At 1409 Albemarle Road
The superintendent of 1409 Albemarle Road told us he was mugged at gunpoint in front of his home yesterday morning around 9:30am, after a man followed him from Church Avenue to his apartment.
The super said he noticed a man, around the age of 25, trailing him on Church Avenue.
“I went into the pharmacy, and he followed me,” the super, who wished to remain unnamed, said. “I looked behind me as I left and didn’t see anybody so I went ahead. When I got home, the guy was there and had a .38 gun. I told him, ‘Don’t shoot; don’t shoot,’ and he took my wallet. He got $30 from my pocket.”
The super immediately called the police, and he went to the 70th Precinct to look at several headshots, but he wasn’t able to identify any of them as the man whom he had encountered.
As scary as the mugging was, the super said he is grateful he and his wife, who was home at the time, were not hurt.
“Thank God he didn’t shoot; thank God for that,” he said.
