Summer Sessions At Barclays Plaza & FamilyFest At Atlantic Terminal Mall

FORT GREENE/PROSPECT HEIGHTS – Summer is in full swing with tons of outdoor activities happening around the borough, including a couple happening this weekend at Barclays Center and the Atlantic Terminal Mall.

Starting this Friday, June 21, Barclays Center will host a series of free musical performances at the Plaza in front of the stadium. The brand new Summer Sessions series will present performances from a diverse mix of local and up-and-coming artists. See the schedule below.

Friday, June 21 — DJ Donwill and Nappy Nina
Friday, July 12 — DJ Niara Sterling and Andy Suzuki & The Method
Thursday, July 25 — DJ GETLIVE! and Meridian Lights
Friday, August 2 — DJ MICK, featured artist to be announced
Friday, August 16 — DJ Luna Rósa and Lohai
Thursday, August 29 — DJ and featured artist to be announced

Each Summer Sessions performance is free and takes place from 4pm to 7pm. The series will also feature a rotating selection of food trucks at each show, offering snacks and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase.

On Saturday, June 22, head over to the Atlantic Terminal Plaza (139 Flatbush Avenue) from 1pm to 3pm for FamilyFest, featuring a community mural-painting event, music and dance, circus arts workshops, pop-a-shot basketball and chess games, immersive virtual reality, giveaways, food trucks, and more.

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) invites the community to collaborate with Brooklyn artist Patrick Dougher as he paints Soul of Brooklyn, an original mural that will be permanently displayed on the Atlantic Terminal building.
