Attention neighbors between the ages of 14 and 24! If you’re looking for a summer job, you can apply now for the city’s Summer Youth Employment Program.

Through Friday, April 10, you’ll be able to apply for a summer gig through the program, which provides people with paid employment for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants, who are selected for the positions by lottery, work in a variety of entry-level jobs, including in government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, non-profits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports enterprises, and more. For example, near our community, youth in the SYEP program have worked at the Center for Family Life on 35th Street.

To apply, you can go here – just make sure you register by April 10.

If you have further questions about the employment program, visit the city’s Department of Youth & Community Development’s website or call 1-800-246-4646.
