Submit Art & Bid On It During First PS 130 Auction For Art & Enrichment
If you make art, or want to buy art to support local kids, you need to know about the first annual PS 130 Parkside School Auction for Art & Enrichment.
The auction will raise money to offset education department budget cuts and ensure that each student continues to be provided with opportunities to develop academic mastery, and artistic and leadership capacities through arts and enrichment programming.
Not only will there be work from local artists, there will be a print made of work from PS 130 students, plus a an original work of art
by artist Jeff Koons. The Jeff Koons x Supreme “Monkey Train” Skateboard (shown here), one of the 100 artist proofs, is part of a limited edition of 400 that sold out. Check out this nice story in the Times about how it ended up in the auction.
Here’s how you can help out:
Donate your original artworks: Anything from paintings and sculptures to textiles and photographs. Submissions are open to all, but you must fill out an application form, and the deadline is Monday, October 14. Email ps130art@gmail.com for more info.
Bid on art: Place the highest bid and own a work by Jeff Koons, local students, and more! The auction will be on Wednesday, October 23 from 6-8pm, Brooklyn Commune, 601 Greenwood Ave. Or, place bids starting October 15 online.
