Straphangers Use Ft. Hamilton More

Do you need more proof people are moving to Kensington? The MTA reports ridership at the Ft. Hamilton subway stop has increased by a whopping 19%.

Overall, ridership in Brooklyn increased 1.3% which isn’t surprising as this is New York’s fastest growing borough. Yet this data hints that Kensington is outpacing Brooklyn overall.

Other subway stops in Kensington are also well used. 12,000 riders began their commute at Ditmas Ave on the F, an increase of 0.9%. Church Ave is Kensington’s only station that registered a minor decline in metrocard swipes, yet is still decidedly above its 2010 levels.
