Splurge A Little Dough On Donuts Tomorrow For National Doughnut Day

Sugar-coma, here we come.

As if there wasn’t already excuse enough to snack on donuts every chance we get, tomorrow is National Donut/Doughnut Day, meaning that at some stores throughout the city and country, you can get a free treat or even win prizes.

Among those stores is Dough (448 Lafayette Avenue), which will not only be raffling off a year’s supply of doughnuts to one lucky winner, but they will also be debuting a new flavor: Matcha Sugar!

To enter the raffle, all you have to do is buy a box of six or more doughnuts. Buying Dough doughnuts at any number of the local Fort Greene and Clinton Hill establishments that carry them (e.g. Bittersweet, Brooklyn 11238, Brewklyn Grind, and more) does not enter you into the raffle.

Other local shops that don’t have any specials happening (that we know of, yet), but that have doughnuts and are worth supporting because they’re all-around fantastic, are Fort Grace (229 DeKalb Avenue, attached to The General Greene), Greene Grape Annex (753 Fulton Street), and Le Petit Bakery (354 Myrtle Avenue), which has “squats” — their twist on the popular croissant-donut hybrid.

Of course, there’s also the national chains. Dunkin’ Donuts will be giving out a free donut — any donut — with the purchase of a drink, while Krispy Kreme will be giving one free donut of your choice just for walking in.
