Southern Boro Park Weed Lot To Get Multi-Family Apartment Building
Yet another “anonymous” Brooklyn-based company is building up southern Brooklyn, this time bringing a multi-family apartment building to Boro Park, at 1668 59th Street.
At least it’s on an empty, weed-filled lot, and they’re not demolishing any longstanding neighborhood homes for the property — but the property will still be among the tallest of buildings on the quiet residential street.
According to the application, the building is going to be three-stories, with three full-floor units. The applicant of record is Jose Lockhart of Tecnico Engineering.
We don’t see much development in Boro Park, but when we do it’s almost always residential, so this isn’t such a shocker, although any development in the area is fairly uncommon (especially when compared to northern Brooklyn, or should we say, eastern Manhattan).
Whoever ends up living in the home will be conveniently located near Gravesend Park, and less conveniently located to the subway — the New Utrecht Avenue N station is a solid walk away.
